You’ll need to turn on Location Services for your Facebook account when creating your Facebook Dating profile unless Location Services is already turned on. Dating uses Location Services to suggest matches based on your distance preferences, so you won’t be able to see or match with people unless Location Services can confirm your dating location.
After creating your Dating profile, you may turn off Facebook Location Services and continue to use Dating. You’ll see matches based on your most recently confirmed dating location. Your dating location is visible on your Dating profile.
Your dating location is the area where you initially signed up for Facebook Dating, unless you update your dating location. If you move locations, your dating location does not update automatically to your new area.
To change or check your dating location:
- Go to your Facebook app, then tap
Dating.
- Tap Profile > Edit.
- Tap Dating Location.
- Tap Update Dating Location, then tap Save.
Turning off Location Services
Keep in mind that turning off Location Services will affect your overall Facebook experience, not just Dating, because Dating uses the Facebook Location Services. Facebook uses your location to provide more relevant and personalized experiences, like helping you to check-in, find events and get better ads
